Right now we're trying to rally support for our 3 hour runtime petition. Let me fill you in briefly on what it's about.

As you may know Watchmen is based on a 12 issue comic series that is very long, deep and complex. The film's director, Zack Snyder has proven that he knows what he's doing with this adaptation and has explained recently that Warner Bros. keeps insisting that he cuts his 3 hour cut of the film down to something like 2 hours and 20 minutes.

Snyder has voiced concerns that he's finding it hard to cut because with a story as complex as Watchmen, the narrative, in his opinion, calls for a 3 hour film. The film currently stands and 2 hours and 45 minutes but apparently WB wants his to trim more.

Our petition (which is currently 4,730 signatures strong) is designed to show WB that fans want to see Snyder's 3 hour vision come to theaters. We understand that a DVD edition of the film would likely pass 3 hours, but we would hate to see mainstream film audiences get a shortened movie that does not do justice to the source material.
